We got nailed with a pretty bad wind storm yesterday. I will be spending the weekend cutting up the trees that got blown down and some severely damaged. My yard is a big mess and *I* get to clean/cut/rake/haul a poopload of wood. I could just say eff it and get drunk..... guess which one it will be?

So here's my pop with his fruit basket. I wish I could tell all you dads out there how much you mean to your daughters. "Daddy's girl" is no joke! Don't mess with my dad.

If my daughter had written this it would have been......"So here's my pop, he is a fruit basket."
That looks like a great tasting basket!

Sometimes I'm just gobsmacked by something my daughter says or does. She's 31; she's married; she lives in the Big City. She's still my little girl, and I'm still Daddy. She's the only one who gets to call me "Daddy." Well, my son could, but it'd just be weird.

You fellas are lucky. A daughter is one thing I will never have. I do have my three sons and that make me proud. Two of them have very nice girlfriends that are kinda like daughters so that'll do!

I finished up the log splitting today. I'm thinking about getting out on the canoe and trying my luck at some fishing as long as the river drops a bit by tomorrow. Also my batch of beer should be ready to rack and dry hop tomorrow! Yay beer!

Have a great Father day all!

Thanks for this!
I have three girls and I just spent the last two days with my youngest in the hospital with a false
alarm of appendicitis.
Sometimes, I believe, they actually choose me over their lovely mother, to discuss things with.

We'll be having the inlaws, my oldest daughter and grandchild over for BBQ chicken, mashed spuds and greens!

Enjoy your day Dads!

So today my wife and daughter invited my mom over and are making me a brunch. And then we're meeting Paul and some friends at a local brewery tap room this afternoon. I may get to use my gift today too :give:

I met my son in law & his grandfather at a tavern to drink some beers, watch a ball game, & have lunch. Sampled a 21st Amendment Toaster Pastry IRA & a nitro Hopworks IPA. Will probably go on a leisurely bike ride in a bit.

It has been a busy day. I went down to my parent's house to finish up some plumbing work I had started yesterday then came home to my girls and was presented with a gift card to the local bike shop to use to get my bicycle back to road worthiness. I then said good bye to my youngest who was heading to Pom Pon camp. My 2 older daughters gave me 2 mix six packs as you can see below. Really looking forward to trying these out!

We then headed to Michigan Beer Company for dinner where I had a flight of 4 beers (Belgian IPA, Imperial IPA, Clementine Lemon Thyme Pale ale and a Double Chocolate Layer Cake Stout) and a Cedar plank salmon that was awesome!
