It's not rocket science
But that doesn't mean rocket scientists can't enjoy the hobby.

That's how we should all do it. Just decide to and go for it.
On a related note, I've tried Victory Hop Devil and found it not to my liking. It's very rich and typical of what I think of when I think of East Coast IPAs like Dogfish Head, too.

Those are Mid Atlantic IPAs! There's actually quite a range in IPAs on the East Coast...Victory and DFH are both mid-atlantic breweries started in the mid-90s. Compare their IPAs to Heady Topper, or one from Cigar City!Kealia wrote:That's how we should all do it. Just decide to and go for it.

However... Try their Dirt Wolf... It's a whold 'nuther animal (pun intended LOL!)
Seriously though, I love love love the Dirt Wolf!
Re: It's not rocket science
So I actually like hop devil. But I am not a west coast IPA is the only thing that is an IPA and/or malt should always stay out of the way type person. Hop Devil is what inspired me to brew what I called "Beer von Apollo" - IPA based on malty German grain bill (which is what Hop Devil is). And I really liked that beer I made too. That said, if I was in the mood for west coast IPA, or looking for a crisp beer to quaff in the summer, I would not buy hop devil. But if I'm in the mood for something to sip on in the winter after skiing, it hits the spot.
But I love dirt wolf too.

Good to know the distinction, thanks. I'll also look into the Dirt Wolf to see what's happening there.
