Passing the tin can
Guys and gals, it's summer time and though many may slow down their brewing and spend more time outside enjoying their hard work to make great beers, there are still bills to pay.
If you are able, please think about donating a few bucks to keep this wonderful forum going. Leigh does all of this on his own without asking for anything but friendship, sharing knowledge and making great beer. But, this isn't free and someone has to pay for it and he does it all.
So, please consider how much you use this forum to learn and share what you've learned and if you feel you're getting something out of it, please click the Donate button on the main page and give what you can.
Leigh, thanks for making this place home for the Borg family!
p.s. I just donated just in case anyone is curious.

Re: Passing the tin can
I set up my donation to give every month, I recommend that to all. And yes, thanks to all that help with this site.
Re: Passing the tin can
You guys are great for helping out!
Even a small amount helps. Leigh's not making money on this site, that's for damn sure but, he has made improvements and I know he continues to look for ways to make it better and better does have some bit of a price tag.

There's a donate button? Ok, off I go to find it!
Edit: Found it! I set up a small monthly donation. Does paypal take a cut, and if so is it a percentage or flat rate, or does it depend on the transaction amount?

Jon, I don't think Paypal takes a cut. The fee would have shown up in my receipt.
TT, it's not on the forum, you have to go to the BeerBorg Homepage. Try BeerBorg.com, without the "/forum"

Re: Passing the tin can
Thank you everyone that has contributed. I truly appreciate it. The web hosting bill is coming up the first of August and these donations will really help to defer the costs of that.
Also I wanted to make some clarifications.
1. PayPal does take a cut of all donations. The minimum they take on a donation is $0.33, so if someone donates a $1 the site gets $0.67. On donations up to $100.000 PayPal takes 2.2% + $.30 so on a $100 donation the fee would be $2.50.
2. I just learned that If you have a Paypal account and want to "Gift" money to BeerBorg PayPal does not charge a fee for "Gifts". You can send a gift using the email address info@beerborg.com. You will need to login into PayPal and choose Pay or Send Money then choose "Send money to friends or family".
3. If you want to set up a recurring donation or just make a one time donation instead of a "Gift" the direct link to donate is Here.
Once again I greatly appreciate the support and community. This would not be possible without all of you. Thank you!

Stoopid PayPal! I cancelled my monthly donation and will just have to remember to make an annual gift. Have a couple beers on me/pay for some server fees.LouieMacGoo wrote:Thank you everyone that has contributed. I truly appreciate it.
