I work every other Saturday, but not the first Saturday of the month. And Monday is a national holiday. So, with sinus-clearing forethought, I put in for a vacation day on July 1.
I have a 4-day weekend!
I'll be brewing, of course. But I also will be smoking ribs on Saturday, and, since my nephew is visiting on Sunday, I'll be grilling some bacon-wrapped shrimp and chicken wings (they're great when you grill 'em instead of deep-frying). The wings are done with a brushing of olive oil and some salt and pepper. Then, I figure I'll have a couple of sauce options on hand. I know my son will eat them without any sauce, but I'll be sure to have my homemade BBQ sauce, some Nance's Hot Sauce, and maybe some honey/mustard sauce available.

Re: Four-day weekend!
I *almost* have a 4 day weekend! I work a half day on Saturday, but that's ok.
Congrats, and enjoy your weekend.
I think I'm going to finally make my elderflower wine tomorrow, and I probably need to bottle up some beverages that have been sitting in kegs for a while...which will let me keg my Munich Dunkle (which is probably more of a hybrid steam beer, due to the issues I've had adjusting to the not cold cold tap water here in Houston!), which will also free up a fermentor for brewing.
I've got some dry Belgian Abbey yeasts, so maybe I'll do something along those lines on Sunday.

Re: Four-day weekend!
I'm kind of in the same boat as Jon....although I'm working today, it won't be a full day. I slip out around 2 today. Saturday, I have to drive down to Athens, OH to drop off a couple of entries into this years Ohio Brew Week Competition. Then on Sunday, my brother and his family are coming down from Cleveland for the day to see the baby and hang out. I'll put some chicken thighs on the smoker and enjoy the company with some good BBQ and Beer.
Enjoy the weekend everyone and Happy Fourth of July!! If your celebrating with fireworks, be careful and don't blow your hand off!!!

Re: Four-day weekend!
Today starts our summer hours which isn't really a big deal but every Friday in July and August we close at noon. It's dead here on Friday's in the summer and I started doing this last year and it worked well and though it's only half a day, it does make us feel just a tad bit better.
So, I have a 3 1/2 day weekend. Wooooohooooo!
Happy Fourth everyone!
