Can't Wait For Normalcy!!

Post by D_Rabbit »

Hey guys! Been catching up on some of the topics. Love the new kitten Ink! Congrats on the lucky strike Dave! And hope everyone else's summer is going well! I've been enjoying the heat wave in VA while inspecting roofs at around 120 degrees! I call them my roof top saunas.

Anyways, one more month to go on the house build and than hopefully life can settle down again. I'm sick of living in people's basements!

Our townhouse sold in about a week, which we did not anticipate. That left us homeless from May to August. Luckily my aunt and uncle let us crash at there house until the house is done. August 4th can't come soon enough!

Here are a few photos of the build.

Was thinking about you the other day and it's good to hear from you. Good luck on keeping the date. As they say in Game of Thrones, "Winter is coming!"

Normalcy is really over rated, except when things go topsy turvy for you. :)

Wild times, Dan. The house looks great. I wish I had a kitchen that large.

Great to hear from you Dan! Nice looking house. So if that's the kitchen in the last picture then that's a bar in the picture before it? Sweet!

Congrats - That's a nice looking home. What Ryan model is it? We have the Milan and looks very similar to yours.

Brewnewb, It is the Rome Model. For the price and square footage we couldn't turn it down. It gives us enough bedrooms where we can convert 1 to an office along with the study room so my wife and I can both work from home. We liked the Milan but it was a little higher in price for less SF. It was great there were a few built in our area so that helped with our appraisal. We opted for the theater room in the basement as well and are having the wiring company build in the Bose speakers in to the wall. Opted for the 3D HD projector as well which will be displayed on the 110" screen :). We enjoy our movies. I will also have cable hooked up to it so I can watch my G-Men screw the pooch again in the NFC North. Going to have to hook up the gaming console too it also.

Ink, that is definitely a picture of the wet bar :). Directly on the other side of that wall is going to be my brew room. My wife had a great idea of putting the kegerator up against that wall and mounted the taps right to the wall. That will be a project down the road but it will definitely happen.

Screwy, we needed that to please the MRS. We also opted not to have the bump out for the breakfast nook area. Figured since we were getting the gourmet island there was no need for the breakfast room which saved some $$ also.

That money can go to modifying the brewing equipment to go electric. I had them put an extra outlet in there specifically for electrical brewing. It is on its own circuit. We also didn't finish the basement bathroom which allows me to put in a utility sink. My wife told me the room was mine to play with as long as she gets her kitchen. Kitchen is done so now its time for me to learn how to be a DIYer.

Hope to be on more often now since work seems to be slowing down and only another 3 weeks to closing and move in.
