GABF

Anyone ever been to the Great American Beer Fest?
Anyone going this year?

I am thinking about buying tickets and visiting this year. Wondering if anyone has ever been, or wants to go this year!

Beerlabelman has gone a couple of times, I believe. He had great reports.

I've never been, but have been in Denver visiting a client during that time.....so close and yet!

I'm not sure how I would do, honestly. I know that after about 4 hours of tasting at local events I start to get burned out and I typically don't drink the next day just to give my palette a break. I'm not sure I would get the bang for my buck, but I would love the discussions, panels, etc. - unless I'm thinking about the AHA conference and getting them mixed up. They do panels, talks, etc - right?

Anyway, if you go please post pics and a write up so we can live vicariously through you.

Speaking of Beerlabelman, I wonder where he's been?? :dunno:

Beerlabelman does go just about every year and is usually a server at one of the booths. He has always has some great reports and photos from previous years and it has alway made me want to go but I've never really been able to get my crap together to make it.

Edit: Here's the link to one of his posts about GABF. The pictures are well worth a look. http://beerborg.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... ABF#p14309

Is anyone attending GABF this year? I am attending, but the people I intended to visit with have had to back out. I'm still planning to attend currently, and have an all-session pass, but working on figuring out if I'll know anyone else in attendance. I will be staying (and attending at least one session) with family who lives in the area, so not like I'm flying solo, but it would be nice to have some beer nerd companionship if anyone is attending... ;)

Thanks to the mentions in this old thread, I reached out to Beerlabelman. He is working this year as well. Of course, since I'm working the judging, and he's working the fest, it's likely we'll mostly be working opposite shifts all weekend. But we're going to try to meet up at some point.
