Finally

Post by jimjohson »

Since the end of last Oct our daughter, her husband and kids been living with us. We were all at the mercy of contractors... We were told it would be right at a year before completion. Happily they were overly conservative and they are moving out this weekend. I don't want this misunderstood I love my family but after 9 months of 4 adults and 2 kids in a 900 sq ft single bath house. I'm doing my happy dance :banana: :banana: :banana: I haven't brewed in a couple months, just no room. In the interim SWMBO took over my fermentation chamber for her wines. She's ordered a controller so when it comes in I'll be converting one of our chest freezers for her. Then I can brew. I'm thinking about making my first brew an Oktoberfest, It'd be getting ready at around the right time. :lol:
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain
-- Quaintest thoughts -- Queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

Congratulations to all, JJ. I'm sure the kids are happy to be able to get into their own space, and obviously, you and the missus can resume your normal lives, which must include brewing that Oktoberfest.

Enjoy getting back to normal life! :woot:

I can really relate. Though it hasn't been 9 months (!!!! yikes!!!), living in a tiny hotel room with my hubby and 2 cats for the last 2 months has really been testing my patience. Can't wait to move into a real house next week!!!

Actually I can relate to this. When my time was near up in the Navy, my wife & kids had already moved back to where she was from, about 6 months earlier. She rented a furnished basement from this older couple, they lived up top and her and the kids in the basement. It was kinda different having two families living in the same house. I think we lived there about a year or so.
