One aweful weekend! :(

Post by LouieMacGoo »

As if my year so far hasn't been hard enough with my father having had a stoke in February and the continued health issues associated with that. :( Then the passing of my mother-in-law in April. :( Now, on Friday I took my wife to the hospital with the complaint of chest pain. :( The pain had actually started on Thursday but she just didn't think it was anything big and put off my repeated requests to take her to get checked out. Finally on Friday I was able to convince her to go. Once in the ER the the EKG and Chest xray didn't show anything unusual but one the labs came back it was a different story and showed that she had indeed had a heart attack! HOLY CRAP!!!!!

Armed with this new information the doctors wasted no time to get my wife into the Cath Lab to fix the issue. After almost 1-1/2 hours the doctor came to let us know that everything came out well. They were able to locate and successfully remove a blood clot in her coronary artery. :) The prognosis is very good but this was unbelievably scary and I don't know what I would have done if things would have turned out for the worse. :D I just can't wait to get my wife back home where she belongs and start moving forward with the rest of our lives together.

I really hope the this is the last of the health scares for a while. I really don't know how much more I can take!

Note: For those of you that I have connected with outside of BeerBorg, such as Facebook and Twitter. Please keep this post info here on the Borg. I haven't shared this publicly anywhere else but really felt I needed to share this somewhere and the Borg is a "safe" place for me.

I need a beer.

Wow. That was a close call.

When chest pains are involved, I think it's best to err on the side of caution.

I hope she gets well soon.

I don't wish hospital trips on anyone.
Hopefully all will stay well for a while.

Good Doctors always have to match lab work with the actual patient.

When I was in the hospital they found I had some infection and tested which antibiotics worked best for that infection. They changed my antibiotic because of that and did not release me until my WBC (indicating infection) went down to a certain level.

Leigh, I'm SO sorry you've had to go thru all of this. You've had more than your share lately for sure. I know how scary these things are and just the waiting and wondering is enough to drive you crazy but I'm glad that you made sure she went to the doctor and that's the important BIG step. Waiting is NOT the thing to do, but its just human nature to do so.
You all will be in my prayers.

Scary stuff for sure. Glad they took care of it and all is getting better. My wife passed out on me a few years ago and for a couple of minutes I thought that I had lost her. Was the most frightening thing that I had ever experienced. Turns out she was low on iron and all was fine.

Take care of her and get her better! I hope that things start to look up for you in the near future.
