It does look awesome. The only problem I see it that is a huge glass of beer. Larger than the child in the background. I hope you did not drink that in one night.mashani wrote:That looks awesome.

[emoji23][emoji14] I did drink it all in one sitting! Thanks guys for the kind words.
@Jon I did fine with gelatin, and I actually forgot to add whirfloc to the boil when I brewed it. I updated my recipe locally on my computer to show the whirfloc addition so that next time I brew it, it's on the timer list and I will be reminded.

With results like that with gelatin, I'd probably stop using whirlfloc--I mean, once I finished up however much of it I still had on hand.philm00x wrote:[emoji23][emoji14] I did drink it all in one sitting! Thanks guys for the kind words.

Lol yeah def. Usually I'm never really too picky about chill haze, but for a beer like this that should be crystal clear, I wanted to make sure it would be. Any and all steps I could take to clarify it, I would employ!Jon wrote:With results like that with gelatin, I'd probably stop using whirlfloc--I mean, once I finished up however much of it I still had on hand.philm00x wrote:[emoji23][emoji14] I did drink it all in one sitting! Phil. Looks great! I have a batch of PumpToberfest cold crashing right now. I was going to try gelatin as well for the first time on this. What batch size did you do and did you do it in primary, secondary or keg? and what proportions of gelatin/water did you use. My batch is a little over 2 gallons and I bottle carb.

Re: Ottoberfest (Marzen Lager)
I did 5 gallons and I added the gelatin at kegging but if you're going to bottle it you want to do it after cold crashing and before bottling. I believe it was 1 tsp gelatin to 2/3 cup water. Sprinkle the gelatin into the water and heat it 10 seconds at a time to get to temp between 145 and 155°F. Then add it hot to the cold beer.

Here's a video of the first pour from the kegerator and the resulting beer in the glass.
