Hoping to do a 2 day brew next week if I can manage to take the week off. If so, here's Sunday's RyePA. Monday's brew will be a pale ale with Golden Promise, Munich and some NZ hops (I hope).
I've got a few different things from previous rye beers as it's strictly experimental.....fingers crossed.

you pop head you!
It's the yeast that I got for their yeast vault a few months back. A good yeast and I like what it brings out. Good malt and hop balance. Think it might be good for a rye. We'll see.

Sorry, couldn't help myself with that comment.
Looks like a good recipe. Looking forward to hearing how it turns out.

Re: Righteous RyePA
Got this done today. I tweaked the recipe a little more and made it a tiny bit smaller, took the Nugget out and moved the timing of the hop drops a bit. New recipe showed 1.058 and I got 1.057 and sweated my arse off. Glad I got started at 7 otherwise I'd be well done. I drank so much water to keep hydrated I wore out the tile floor to the bathroom!
Since I'm on vacation, I'm doing another brew tomorrow and likely that'll be it for 5-6 weeks.

Re: Righteous RyePA
6 days in and this beer and Ready for Preseason Pale Ale are done. While I could dry hop today and keg next week, I don't have any open space in the kegerator so I'll just let them clear more and wait another week to dry hop and cold crash. No rush, it'll only make things better.
The RyePA came in at 6.2% ABV (was looking for 6 but no biggie) and the Pale came in at 5.5%. It's numbers were EXACTLY what Beersmith showed from beginning to end. Not that it makes any difference or any better, just happen to hit the numbers.

Re: Righteous RyePA
Kegged this Friday and had a quick taste last night....it's almost carbed already. Crashing it to 36 before kegging really helps the carb to get a jump start.
It poured semi clear and for this early, that's good. Nice, mild spicy taste from the rye up front and the small bittering of Columbus is almost a must for me with rye. It compliments it nicely.
Decent head for this stage but not as much aroma as I was hoping for. That will hopefully come next week when it's cleared and fully carbed though the late additions of Mt. Hood don't do much for aroma as expected. This was not made to be a 'smelly' beer to begin with. The small amount of English Crystal really helps to give this beer the balance I wanted but the next taste will tell more.
Overall, I'm pleased.
