How I spent my weekend
This last weekend was the 7th Annual Michigan Homebrew Festival in Orion Twp, Michigan. It was a 4 day event (Thursday thru Sunday). I got there on Friday and stayed the weekend until Sunday morning. There were about 16 different homebrew clubs from all over the state as well as several vendors and homebrew supply stores. Our club, the Sons of Liberty Homebrew Club had 16 beers on tap and among those were a Cocoa Coffee Oatmeal Stout based on the BrewDemon Oatmeal stout HMEs and my Mosquito Chaser IPA.
The Mosquito Chaser IPA was a big hit and I got a lot of great feed back about it and it was the second keg for our club to blow so i was pretty happy that I chose to brew that for this event.
There was a ton of great beer from all the different clubs and it was amazing to try all the different brews. What a great experience.
Here are some pictures from the weekend. Enjoy.

Great way to spend a weekend, Leigh. I'm glad the event, and your contribution to it were both so successful.

Sounds like tons of fun.
Glad your beer was a hit. Would you change anything if you did it again?

THAT looks and sounds like a lot of fun! I am going to try to remember to bring this up at our next HBC meeting, don't really know that something like this can be done in Ohio but maybe something to look into.

I was thinking that if people are interest in traveling next year we could put together a BeerBorg "Club" booth with Borg Brews on tap. Or maybe if we have enough people here in Michigan to pull it off.

Looks like a great time. I was planning on pouring a pale ale at my local beer festival this year but they cancelled/rescheduled (TBD) the second day where we homebrewers could serve. Maybe it just wasn't meant to be.
Glad you had fun!

That's cool Leigh! Glad you had a chance to get some beer time in and that your IPA was a hit.

Re: How I spent my weekend
One of the guys from my club who is also a BJCP judge pulled me aside and told me that my IPA was the best and biggest surprise of all the beers there. Considering this was the first Brew I had done in over 9 months I was feeling pretty good about it.Inkleg wrote:That's cool Leigh! Regardless of my IPA it was a great weekend and really got me excited about brewing again.
