I see Lowe's, in my area, has the CharGriller Kamado Akorn on sale this week for $269! Worth a serious look.
SWMBO and myself have been in very serious negotiations over this one too! :p
I have one of those too. I mostly use it for grilling and baking (pizza!). But I really like it.

Never mind, there it is.

The boss decided to smoke a turkey today so I allowed it.
It's a mild and rainy day and there's nothing else to do but eat and drink so that's what my Labor (non) Day is turning out to be. I'm happy with it.

Dave, if you don't mind me asking which model do you have?

Lowes is offering the one with fold down shelves, as I stated, for $269...
BUT Home Depot is offering the model with a cart/work surface for $299.
I kinda like the cart one myself for the expanded work and storage area! :)

I have the one with the fold-down "wings." My work space is a nearby table, and it's all good.

As it happens, I put the ribs on hold, since there was a chance of rain and high winds in the forecast (although neither appeared). And we went over to my mom's for a late lunch and some visiting.

Ended up doing a Beerbutt chicken on the grill with some baked potatoes instead of the ribs since we went out for dinner the night before and I had ribs there.

Nothing wrong with that; we all love it when I make chicken that way. Actually, it's the only way we'll tolerate a roaster. Last one I made, I used oak smoke, and boy, did it turn out great! Next time I make one (or two), I'm gonna grill potato wedges to go with it. Nothing better than some Idaho 'taters cut into wedges, brushed with olive oil, dusted with salt and pepper, and grilled until they start to develop little black patches. That's good eatin'!
