Greetings from Cape Town
Hi all. My name is Don Chetty. Im a novice brewer. Been a fisherman all my life and a whiskey lover. Since i experienced a severe gout attack i laid off the Irish water and opted to brew beer. I drank a few homebrews with not one gout attack.....Dr says it could be the Hops. Hows that for an excuse hehehe. Its now my MEDICINE!.
I have built a brew in basket system with the help of a few good friends and have done 3 brews of late. Only one of which was an All grain ,a Ginger cranberry apple cider and A robbers Golden ale kit.
I have alot to learn. Craft beer is growing fast in South Africa. Pity we dont have the magnificent systems available in the USA.
Im an Airforce pilot by profession so i cant brew as much as i would like to due to work and family commitments. My addiction has been noted by my better half and thank God she is fond of an Ale or 2 every now and then so i have full support from her.
Looking foward to interacting and learning from all you master brewers. Kind regards Don

Welcome Don! There is a lot to be learned here, so ask whenever you need to. Curious, what is the most popular beer in S. Africa, or is there a local specialty?
