Behind the scenes private tour of Budweiser.
With free range access to their storage room to taste anything we wanted.

Stuff:
2nd pic - we got to taste from every step of the process, starting with cooled wort to finished product. The craft brew drinkers of the group actually liked the 3rd bottle.
They bring their grain in on trains and it is ALOT of grain
Apparently, if bud light goes wrong (not consistent or slightly off from the BL recipe) but is still drinkable, it becomes Natty Light. I thought he was joking at first but when questioned further he stuck with it and just said it becomes part of their "Value Brand"
Beechwood is triple boiled to remove any flavor it might impart on the beer. Used as a place for yeast to land on and rest without becoming gunky sludge.
The breweries the have bought out (you know who they are) are still very much considered competitors (see the sign on the shelf)
They taste, everyday, before the end of the day, to make sure what they are brewing is where it should be. They also have to take a breathalyzer after tasting in order to be able to leave. And they have free car service when they have beeen drinking even outside of work hours. (would not look good for AB head brewer to be arrested on DUI)
AB brewers HATE brewing the "...-a-rita and clamato beers.
"We do things the hard way" - was mentioned 568 times lol

The guy was a nice guy. And it was super nice of him to show us all he did.
Despite all the business practices, they do brew a tough style, consistently well.
It was a good time.
Still not interested in their beer though. :D

That looks like a great time. Even though your behind enemy lines, it's always interesting (at least for me) to see beer being brewed on that scale. We've got a Budweiser plant in Columbus, but they don't offer public tours. Kind of a bummer, cause I would love to see it.

That's an interesting tidbit about the Natty Light.

That was cool! Thanks for the post and pics. Would love to do a tour like that on that scale of brewing.
