I’ve missed y’all...

Post by alb »

Hey boys and girls! I had an eventful, stressful, but good end-of-summer and fall. I quit my job and started another, with a different company under the same corporate umbrella. I've got a great boss, I like the work setting (outpatient physical therapy). And it's a good thing, because I'm working 13 hour days. I have Mondays off and it's so nice to have a long weekend. And then I went and started studies for my doctorate. I thought I may have poured out more than I could drink, but I'm getting into a rhythm with it now. I just basically have no life from Tuesday-Friday. :lol:

The only bad thing is it all kept me from brewing. What started out as a slow-down came to a complete stop and my pipeline was completely dry. But now I have a porter in the keg, and a cider in the fermenter, and I'm gearing up for Christmas present brews. The Scottish ale went over great last year, and the bourbon barrel porter, of course. My oldest brudder wants some IPAs, my niece wants "something like coffee." Should be a busy run-up.

That's all the news from Dayton.

Welcome back, good to hear from you again. Good luck with that doctorate, that's hard work. My wife did that a few years back and I remember the stress. But keep your head up, the return is well worth the effort.

Good to see you again, Li'l Sis. That's a rough work-load, but the payoff will be worth it. And it's good you're settling into a routine, so you can plan some time to brew and visit us here at your home-away-from-home.

welcome back Alb
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain

Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."
