Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We did. Daughter and fiance came to visit, son came out/stayed with us. I feel like I ate/drank more than a yearly's allowance... LOL Much turkey, stuffing, pie, etc. I had made a 5 gallon batch of German Hefeweizen from BYO mag. that was, well, gone quickly! Can't believe when I heard air/foam coming out, sure would have loved more of it! It was a huge surprise for me, I had not found a wheat beer made in the USA that I could stand. Actually the last good one I had was while stationed in Germany years ago. I was told by those that have been there that this was so close that they could not tell the difference. Not only did that disappear, but a fifth of Root Beer schnapps, fifth of Peach Brandy, half a fifth of Red Label then a keg of Honey Rye Cream Ale (RCE with Blackduck) that is going to be a house staple for a long time. I saved the RCE batch for last as it was green, did not think it would be ready but, when we ran out of the others, I figured could not hurt to give 'er a try. She was ready!!
I need a break from Turkey and booze, if not for only a day or 2..... LOL AND, a bigger sized pants/shirt for a little while.
On top of all the fun, they all felt sorry for me and I got an early Christmas present. They all chipped in a gave me a new laptop so I will be working on recovering all my lost files and RCE research soon. I did manage to recover my Brewsmith recipes so that made me VERY happy. Now for the rest of the lost items. Life is awesome! Need to brew soon.... gotta brew soon.... maybe an orange ale I've been wanting to brew for many years... something this week.
Happy Holidays to everyone!!

Sounds like a great time. And happy to hear both beers went down with much enthusiasm.

Re: Need a break?
Sounds great, John. We had a somewhat subdued Thanksgiving, it being the first major holiday since Dad passed away in August. But it was good to get together with family again, the food was great (my smoked turkey turned out very well), and the growler of Copperbottom Lager was well-received.
Looking forward to Christmas now.
