Congrats Dave! I tried the same way as you for a while. After retiring from the Military, I wanted a change and did construction. What a HUGE mistake that was. That is a young mans game. Drove truck for a while, while it is fun, it is hard on the knees, mine gave out. So at 56 I punched out of the working world. It's nice to do what you want, when you want, how you want. No, wait. I'm still wishing for that. Don't start a hobby farm.... wow, the work involved. Then, don't become friends with a big farmer.... now I get calls all the time, usually about when I'm starting a project. John, I'm stuck, come pull me out, John, I'm behind come pull a plow for 6 weeks to help me, John, need to haul grain for a few weeks, John, harvest has kicked in hard, get out here.... yeeesh... I need to retire from my freaking retirement! I work harder now than I ever did when I had a real job. Good luck with the Home Depot, we have those and Lowe's or Menards here. There are a LOT of us older guys working there. Hope you find another job you can physically handle/enjoy. Oh, BTW, I truely wouldn't have it any other way.....hehehehe
Life is short, live it to it's fullest!
