This is probably premature...

Post by FedoraDave »

...but, check this out....

I went to my LHBS today for more supplies and I asked the guy if they were looking for any part-time help, since I'm retiring effective Jan. 1. I wasn't expecting anything, honestly, since it's a relatively small, independent business. But the guy said they were talking about reviving their Brew-on-Premises thing, and maybe that was an option.

They've got some other issues to deal with, as far as the landlord and some maintenance/renovations, but he told me he'd keep me in the loop. It would be maybe 15-20 hours a week, and I certainly wouldn't get rich doing it, but the environment would be much to my liking, and I'd get to brew beer and get paid for it!

Keep your fingers crossed.

WOW !.....that would be WAY cool. Brewing beer and getting paid for it. Almost as good as being the steak taster at Peter Luger's Restaurant. But that's just me. Anyhow good luck.Hope you get the nod.

Dave, I hope this deal works out for you. I keep thinking I should apply for a job at Southern Tier brewing, not so much for the brewing part, but landscaping, yard work and cleaning, what I am good at and could work at a place that I like Their beer. It's not far from my house and I was involved in the site prep. Before it was there. The problem I got is I really don't want or need a job. My small farm keeps me busier then I wanted since I retired. Good Luck on your endeavors.
