Back and Brewing.

Post by berryman »

The last beer I brewed until yesterday was a Cologne Kolsch back in Jan. 2016. When I retired last December I had big plans of making a lot of beer, well that didn't happen. My Moms health was failing badly and I spent a lot of time with her and also got my Strawberry farm going again and no time to brew. My Moms health took a big turn for the worse in late Aug. and she passed away the day after Thanksgiving. I maybe could have pulled off a batch or two this fall, but was always worried that right in the middle I'd have to run down to my Moms and it did happen a lot, her house is only a country mile away and about 2 mins. driving time but didn't dare to a leave a mash or boil going just in case . That is the back story why I have not made any beer in a while.
Yesterday I brewed 3- extract 2.5's of SMaSH to test out some of my home grown hops, had been cleaning and getting my equipment in order for a few days prier and it all went very smooth and right on the money (for once :) )

The test batches...and now on to the rest

I have a saying... NO rest until all my fermenters are full and a good pipeline on the shelf.....Cheers my friends :clink:

It's difficult when life's challenges get in the way of what we would like to do. I'm sorry about your loss. Having my father pass away in August, I commiserate deeply.

I'm glad your back.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I have seen pictures of your "little hobby berry farm". Your idea of "little" and mine are different LOL. That has to keep you busy.
