Almost 8 months and it now time to brew

Post by brewnewb »

I last brewed in May 2016. We sold our house in July and moved into a new place in late August. We goofed off on the lake the rest of the summer and all of the fall. All my brew stuff is still in storage but I now see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I took about 12 days off after the holidays and worked on my man cave area bar. It's basically done except for crown molding and custom bar / counter tops that were ordered today. My new kegerator is plugged in with 2 clean EMPTY kegs in it.

I finally got every tool out of my basement and cleaned the place up so it is functional. I'm off on Jan 13 so I'm heading to the storage unit, grabbing the basic equipment and getting my brew on.

I have no idea what I will brew. I just want to smell wort and hops. I want to boil water. I want to use my immersion chiller. I want to scrub that brew kettle when I'm done. I want to pitch that yeast. I want to see that thing bubble.

I want to be a homebrewer again.

Happy New Year everyone!

Just stand up, say "My name is BrewNewB, and I am a home brewer" Or open your window and shout "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!"

Sometimes it takes a while for the dust to settle. I think we've all been there.

But the urge to brew is strong, once you've been bitten by the bug. I'm glad you're going to get back in the saddle and start the wort boiling again.
