Well, that didn't last long

I got hired today for part-time work in the deli section of a local supermarket. It's pretty much the kind of thing I was looking for. It's part-time, it's not going to be real hard on my knees, I like working with food, and because of my background, I have a good understanding and appreciation for how a commercial food establishment should be kept clean.

So after a week of retirement, I'm going back to work.

It occurred to me this morning that I'm really going to be thrown to the wolves right after I start. I'm sure Superbowl Weekend will prove to make the deli dept. busier than an ant farm. It'll give me an early opportunity to prove my mettle, though.
