Since we missed last year, Erik and I did a side trip to check out Sierra Nevada and waitlisted our way into a tour. I know the folks who went last year have already said this, but this place is beautiful and a must-visit if you ever visit Asheville.
We also were in the right place at the right time and stumbled into an exclusive 6-person barrel room tasting that included four barrel aged beers and education, as well as Bigfoot pours straight from the barrel.

It was another great trip. Such a good time seeing old friends. And making new ones. Finally got to try Screweys pineapple ale, and it did not disappoint. As always, the food and homebrew were amazing. The conversations were entertaining, and the Naked Cats were great to have around.
We toured Highland and New Belgium and both were great. If any of you are looking for a new job, New Belgium is the place to work. On your first anniversary, you get a New Belgium Fat Tire bike. Then, on your 5th anniversary, you get a two week, expenses paid trip to Belgium. I think I'm going to apply to scrub the floors.
Thanks to everyone that made the trip, and thanks for the food, beer and freindships.

#93 - Gerst Amber Ale Conditioning and Carbing
LONG day yesterday, scary weather things going on back home before we got there but, it was ALL worth it. Very relaxing, fun, entertaining and enjoyable time. Its always great catching up with friends but seeing and adding new ones is wonderful too.
The tours were great and the small stops to neighborhood breweries/pubs were special as well. The food was EXCEPTIONAL...special thanks to all the cooks and those that put much time into planning, booking and cooking. Enjoyed the small banter that goes on non stop....laughing much.
Today is reality but the last several days puts it all into perspective......life is more than just about work, even tho we work more than we'd like to.
Here's to the next one, whenever and wherever that may be.
I'm really paying for my time off from work today but must say, it was just about perfect. I don't think I'd change anything except Jeff's surprise kilt killer move! One cannot unsee what one has seen!
Thanks to everyone's participation. The beers were stellar and meeting Vince in person was a delight. He fit right in with us misfits.

Blackduck, you forgot about the case of beer per week when you were discussing the New Belgium benefits...
Had a great time for all the reasons said, but I wanted to stress that I didn't taste a bad homebrew the entire weekend, and such a wide range of styles. They ran the gamut from stouts, porters, browns, reds, o-fests, pales, ipas, sours, etc. Such good brewers in this group. I hope to brew as well as all of you all in my brewdays this year...

One of theee best Brewery tours I have ever been on! State of the art, high tech brewing technology. Fantastic beers shared with an amazing bunch of Borg beer enthusiasts.

You're going to make me say it, aren't you: WE HAVE BEER!

No, no, no. It's fruity OR bitter!
