That would probably be from the Citra and it means you are one of those cat pee smelling people. Some folks don't notice it that way, it seems to put off some folks and not bother others. You might notice the same thing with Simcoe, Streisselspalt, Cluster, and some other hops too.RayF wrote:This beer turned out to be pretty good. Defiantly a rebrew candidate. I only have one complaint. Lol. The Aroma is strange. It has a (Naked) cat pee smell, I think.

I have had a chance to bottle and give some of this out to some friends. Wow! What a hit this one has been for me. I have had great reviews and requests for more. I was even asked if I could brew a batch for my buddy, Bob. It is pretty rewarding to have someone tell you that your beer is as good as the commercial stuff that's out there. I'm feeling like I'm getting better at this.
Thank you all for posting this recipe and all the other great info about this brew.

Re: Fresh Squeezed IPA Clone
Yeah, this is a solid recipe for those that don't have an aversion to Citra & Mosaic. It's a good gateway IPA too, IMO - for those that may like the style. It's a bit sweeter than a typical West Coast IPA but not quite in the same range as the malty East Coast style.
I think you nailed it - this one is a pleaser. Glad it worked out well - this one that gets rebrewed multiple times a year for me at this point.

I've got 5.25 gallons of this fermenting right now. Got some Mosaic last week to make sure IKealia wrote:Selfish bump of this thread do I remember to brew this one again soon.
could brew it last Saturday.
Sampled a small bit this morning and it's as good as I remember, but it's still young!
Re: Fresh Squeezed IPA Clone
Nice! Between this and the amber recipe you posted you may be my favorite brewer right now!
Re: Fresh Squeezed IPA Clone
First pour on this (multiple) re-brew.
This beer never disappoints and I'm always amazed at how much flavor comes through with so little (relatively speaking) hops for an IPA.
Cheers!

Sorry, missed this before. Yes, it should be the same recipe. I don't recall making any changes but I will look back at what was posted and verify that.BlackDuck wrote:Looks fantastic Ron. I followed the original recipe once and was very happy with how it turned out. I should do it again.
