Last year when this came out along with Stone's red/amber ale a bunch of us jumped on this and brewed some beers with it. I was really happy with the beer I made and may do it again soon. Is anybody else still using this or was it a fad that came and went?
Just curious. If I brewed (i.e. drank) more I would go through recipes quicker and would likely keep this in the rotation somehow using it for an amber, a RIPA (Red IPA) and maybe even something crazy like a Red Hef.
I think I may need to think about a larger freezer (gasp!). Right now mine fits my 7G SS BrewTech conical perfectly but doesn't allow me to ferment more than one at a time - unless I go back to 2.5G batches, then I could use a carboy and my 3.5G SS BrewTech bucket at the same time.
Hmmm, maybe it's time for a yeast test on a split batch.....ok, now I'm going off topic.

Adventures doesn't sell it so I haven't been able to try it.
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

I have not tried it but Roger aka Gymrat told me I should try it for my Reds but not have been able to find it...........

I just got some yesterday but Rebel Brewer only had 3 lbs and I took it all. I don't have a red planned for another month so I plan an order from Farmhouse in a week or so to get me to 10 lbs total. Only problem is, if I order from Farmhouse, I'll probably order hops too.

Cool, I'll likely get some soon and do a hop-clean up red IPA or something similar. I think I may do a split batch like I droned on about above.

We brewed a partial mash RedX IPA and loved the color. I thought there was too much roast in RedX to warrant using it to get a nice red color, which it did well. I doubt I would brew using it again, and here too, my LHBS doesn't carry it.

That's interesting Vince. I got a nice malty flavor from it but didn't get anything too roasty and I used 100% in my recipe. I love how people get different things from the same ingredients.
