Brew Cave Build
Sorry, it hasn't started yet but wanted to start a thread to commemorate it.
It is almost time! I am working on getting some quotes to finish out a room in my basement for my brew cave. I plan on going electric so the quote includes framing, drywall, and painting the room. It also requires changing out one of my outlets to a 30 amp dryer outlet for the electric panel. The room was rough plumbed for a full bathroom when we built the house with my full intention of using that area as a wash area for the brew cave with a floor drain for easy clean up. So I'll have a large slop sink in there as well. He is going to run addition water supply lines so I can fill the HLT direct without having to use hoses or pails. Floor will be tiled and a large vent hood added above the brew area. Quote he gave me was extremely reasonable, IMO, especially since I don't have to do it. I'm not very handy nor do I have the tools to do a lot of it. Would probably spend $500-800 in tools alone. Super geeked about that! As soon as taxes are done and my yearly review next week he will get the deposit and the work will commence. I'll update the thread with some pictures as the work progresses.
Once the room is done I am planning on getting the 15 gallon turn key system from Spike Brewing. I've priced out building it myself and it isn't much more just buying it and saving some time and aggravation. Plus it looks pretty! Than I'll sell my old set up which will lessen the expense of the new system!
2017 should be AMAZING!
The wall where the mini fridges are is a shared wall with my bar. I plan on running some taps through the wall from my kegerator. [emoji16]. My wife's idea!

Re: Brew Cave Build
That's a pretty pricey brew system! Looks great though!
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

Re: Brew Cave Build
Impressive! Looks like it's well-planned out, so staging your area for brew days and bottle/kegging days should be easy.
Congratulations, Dan!

They will be relocated to another room. Ive been fending my wife off for a 3rd dog. Not sure how much longer I'll be able to hold her off. They barely spend any time in those kennels. We have 6, I kid you not! 6 dog beds throughout the house which they rarely use as well. Usually I find them on our king size bed.alb wrote:I. Love. This.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'll post updates as it moves forward. Hopefully later this month!
