R.I.P My Big Mouth Friend

Post by berryman »

I broke my Big Mouth Bubbler 6.5 glass fermenter today. I bought it when they first came out with them, I knew the glass was thin on them early ones and it didn't always seal up good, but I mainly used it as a primary and I fermented a lot of batches in it. Had the harness for it. I was rinsing it with starsan and bumped the devider in my sink and it shattered. I'm going to split this 6 gal batch that I brewed today in a 5 gal and a LKB..................I'm about done with glass, I have one more 5 glass....

Sorry you broke your carboy.

I've never used glass, except for my bottles. I ferment in my basement, which has a concrete slab, and I know glass and concrete don't play well together. I've dropped my carboys numerous times, too, although knowing they won't break, it's possible I'm not as careful as I would be with glass.

I cut my thumb a little but it's alright.
Actually I am serious considering a Brewtech Brew Bucket, I have to do some reseach on them and see if it will fit into my brew-cool chamber.

Oh yes, the Brew Bucket is my favorite then my Big Mouth. Haven't use the bucket in a year and a half.
Some people like to see things in a carbon though the Brew Bucket is much easier to clean.

One would think that the founder of the forum would abstain from slander such as this. When I saw Berryman's post, I started to type a response pointing towards a certain "colorful" forum member, then decided it was in poor taste. Now, this. What has this forum come to. :wow:
