Need some advice on this one...

Post by teutonic terror »

Morning BORG! :borg:

Got this recipe mashing right now and it'll be a while before the hop additions,
I was wondering where I should put the Citra to get the most benefit from it.

I kinda based it's placement off of the Fresh Squeezed clone, but that only used
two types of hops.
I was thinking of moving it inside 10 minutes, but it's a toss up to me right now....

Appreciate any feedback! :)

I would use it at flameout, or at least in the last 5 minutes. It's very aroma-driven. I use Citra a lot, and I have a recipe similar to yours. I've always liked it best with Citra at the end. And dry-hopped with it, too. Try Galaxy sometime, it fits perfectly with the others in your recipe.

Thank you Alb!

I love Citra too and if I had another ounce of it, the placement woulda been easy, I woulda done both.

Per your advice, I added it at two minutes and am hoping for the best of both worlds, some flavor
and aroma!

And thanks for the heads up on Galaxy...

I concur with alb. You should be pleased with your two minute choice.
