Checking back in!
Been AWOL lately, brewing this year has been sporadic cause of so many things going on but recently took another hit, had a bout with obstructed bowel again almost 5 years to the date of the first go round with it. This time it was caused from two incarcerated abdominal hernias, pinching off small intestines in two locations. spent a week in hospital to get things moving and am waiting on the two surgeons that are going to be repairing the hernias and the small intestinal adhesions to get together on the date for surgery.

Wow...that sucks. Hopefully you'll be back to yourself soon. And the upcoming surgery takes care of the issues.

Welcome back!
Feel better, and feel free to post random inane thoughts here while recovering.
Can we send you some beer?

Re: Checking back in!
You should never have let your abdominal hernias commit crimes, then they would not have gone to jail and caused this problem. Must be an O_io thing, lots of Buckeyes end up in prison.

That sounds awful, Dawg. I hope the surgery goes well and your recovery is speedy and complete. Keep us in the loop.
Remember that 9 out of 10 doctors surveyed recommend posting to the Borg as excellent post-operative therapy. The lone hold-out is some guy named Kyle, and everyone knows Kyle's a jerk.

Surgery scheduled for 9/20. Hoping this also takes care of some digestive problems I have had and can start drinking Hefeweizen beers again without distress.

Intestines are overrated, take them out, have a few pints and Bob's your uncle..
Seriously, I sincerely hope this fixes things once and for all. Please keep us posted and know we've got you in our thoughts and prayers.

Re: Checking back in!
Well saga continues, secretary for the surgeon scheduled surgery with hospital without confirming with plastic surgeons office mgr that he would be available. Needless to say at my appt Tues. with the plastic surgeon, he was taken by surprise when he asked how urgent this matter was and I told him it was scheduled for Weds. So it is actually confirmed by both for next Weds.

Re: Checking back in!
Quick update, had the surgery on 27th, prepped and surgery started @ 2pm, @ 10pm my wife got the text saying I was getting wheeled into recovery. In meantime surgeons came out and explained that once they opened me the amount of mesh needed was less than they had, meaning they either closed me back up or kept plugging away, repairing adhesions and sent a courier into main campus in Downtown Cleveland from rural hospital that was probably hour each way for the mesh. The hernia's seemed to open more from appointments to the surgery. So back to the quick update, all is going good and may possibly be released on Thursday!
