so cal fires

Post by Whamolagan »

Completely surrounded by fires. Packed and ready to evacuate. The wind has been good to us so far. Surreal the sky is glowing.

Stay safe and go when they tell you. Seen on news and pics on FB not very good in those areas.

I hope you're able to stay safe.

Wildfires are scary things. A few years ago, one came within a mile or two of my house. Some friends had to evacuate and actually had some fire damage to their lawn (but fortunately no damage to their home).

I could feel the heat from the fire if I stood on my lawn. It's scary enough watching them on the news, but it's difficult to really understand just how big those fires are unless you're near one.

Pretty amazing to see people commuting in a firestorm. It's one thing watching it in the mountains, but when it's hit a big city like LA, it's wild. Staff safe.

The braumiester is pack and ready to go, screw the record collection. If the winds stay at bay we will be fine. Pray for Santa Barbara, its heading that way. This morning was touch and go. We are sleeping in shifts. I could hear the fires this morning while on my shift at 2:30 am. At one point we were surrounded by fire in the whole valley. Fire never got more than 2 miles from us though. Why don't you guys pray for a little rain for us.

Sorry to hear that it is so close to you, whamo. I have family in S. Cal but nowhere near the fires. This is just after my family up North just narrowly escaped the Santa Rosa fire(s), too.

I hope you guys down there get a break from the winds and your house continues to be spared. Stay safe.

No winds. I think we will be fine, but no brewing. Ash ale I guess, grey saison maybe, fire retardant red?

Two miles is probably close enough to feel the heat.

Stay safe and dont take chances.
