Christmas came a little early
My wife brought home a new heavy duty stock pot for me last night, https://www.walmart.com/ip/Tramontina-S ... t/19581118
I'm not sure if it was to keep me from using the old thin leaking stainless 5G pot and making a mess on her(?) stove. As I had pretty much given up on making any more bigger 5G batches and was concentrating on the smaller 1G batches. Or if it was because I had mentioned that I wouldn't be able to make any more of the Northern Brewer Bastard Stepson Root Beer Extract Kit that she likes so well. Either way, it's fine. The new pot also features a Tri-Ply Base that is designed to ensure efficient, even heating.

Your gonna love that pot. I thought the Tramontina line was exclusive to Bed Bath and Beyond, guess not. All my kitchen pots are the Tramontina Gourmet Prima line. They are damn near as good as All Clad but at half the price. I love mine. Great score for you!!!

Re: Christmas came a little early
Nice Christmas present, puts you at enough room for 4 gallon batches at least. Also it being induction ready you can get one of those induction cooktop appliances, get a bag for biab, mash and boil right there with steady temp control.

Thanks, Nah, I've not used it yet. I need to get some 5G recipes ordered and delivered so I can try it out.

Gotcha. If you're not opposed to ordering specific grains vs a kit (i.e. your own recipe vs theirs) head over to the Advanced Recipes section. There are some great recipes shared there and any of us that have posted would be happy to talk details of said recipe(s).
Either way - enjoy!
