Been drinking a lot of KC Bier Co Dunkle. Also got a Leinie's winter sampler with creamy dark and snowdrift vanilla porter.

As noted in my "I'm Baaaaack" post, I plan on getting back into making my own beer right soon.

New Belgiums "Fat Tire Wit Beer".

(they are apparently using "Fat Tire" as a "Brand" now vs. just a "Beer").

It doesn't have the Belgian Wit yeast tartness, instead it has slight hints of banana (slight as in a lot less then a German wheat strain would have), so it was brewed with an American Wheat strain of some sort I think. Also doesn't have any clove phenols that I can taste. Some people might not even taste the banana at all. I mean slight when I say slight. But it has enough "yeasty" flavor that I know they didn't use something like S-05 like Blue Moon does.

It does have some nice orange/coriander/grains of paradise citrusy/peppery stuff going on. Stronger then in Blue Moon.

It also feels more substantial, and starts with a bit of orange sweetness and lemon from the corriander, but then it finishes with a very doughy/biscuit/cracker/oaty malt flavor. In many ways the malt flavor is almost "Dortmunder like". Except for the oats and wheat, it could pass for one from a malt standpoint.

Its not "awesome" but I'd pick it up on tap if I was out and wasn't in the mood for some other style of beer. It's better to my tastes then Blue Moon or Shock Top. At least I think so. If nothing else it's still independently brewed unlike those.

Not right now, it's 9:30 Sunday morning. But last night I tried Dogfish India Brown. A really nice beer. I am not always a fan of hopping up every style, (Black IPA, yuck) but this was very good.
One of Jane's nephews offered it to me at a party for another nephew. With five sisters, Jane has plenty of neice's and nephews.

TonyKZ1 wrote:My daughter is home for Christmas and brought me a 6pk of these Incarnation IPA Image from 4 hands brewery in St. Louis. Tastes pretty good. From their website "Rise up and tantalize your taste buds with the Mosaic hopped IPA! Incarnation pours amber in color with a firm off white head. Look for loads of tropical flavors in this medium bodied IPA. Aromas of passion fruit, pineapple and candied fruit dominate."
That sounds tasty, Tony.

I'm getting this ready for tonight!

^ That sounds great! I haven't tried any of the Stone beers but I'll bet "Santa" will enjoy it.

Your pushing the limits there Kealia, that beer is almost unenjoyable now.

I'm drinking more of the New Belgium Wit stuff.

I made it just under the wire!

Went hiking today, came home and poured a pint of Fresh Squeezed from the tap.

A home made Hef, not really the time of year for one when it is 14 degrees out and snowing, but I found it in the back of the beer fridge and sounded good.
