Several years ago Bell's filed a trademark infringement against Inspiration Brewing. This whole topic was discussed here on the Borg and there were several people that were ready to boycott Bells for a "BS" case. I always felt it was a crappy thing to do but Bell's felt they had to defend their trade mark "Inspired Brewing" or they may lose ownership of it. Well the courts have decided that it wasn't valid. I like Bell's but I'm glad that they lost.

Re: Bell's Loses Trademark Dispute
Thanks for sharing this, Leigh.
I respect trademarks and understand the need to protect them legally, but frankly, when I buy beer (or pretty much any product), I go by name recognition rather than slogan recognition. Bell's legal eagles obviously saw more than that, and they had their own reasons for the dispute, but it just seems like pissing into the wind to me.
