Basement Brewery Build

Post by D_Rabbit »

Although it’s been a rough few days (see other post) at least today there was a delivery and bright spot. Hard to take photo as we got home late and had to get car in garage due to bad weather. Here is a nice teaser, for both u and me! Vent hood has arrived!!

Ha! Sorry, not much progress the last few weeks. Inspection passed last week. Drywall should go in this coming week! More brewery porn to follow next week. [emoji16]

Ok, drywall is up. Mud will be done Tuesday. Than it’s up to me to do the painting and tile work before the contractor comes back in for finishing touches.

Oh baby! Getting close. Called to schedule final inspection. Once inspection is approved I Just need tile on 2 walls and floor, paint the other walls, floor drain, and vent hood! I can almost smell that boiling wort!!

Only issue so far is I’m not fond of that door he put on. Gonna have to paint it white to be a closer match.

 Paint that door like a huge glass of beer or some other brew brewing theme. Heck paint it with your brewery logo. :clink:

Finally hit my first big roadblock. This is why people just do work on their damn house without pulling permits! Everything is hooked up, electrical and plumbing. Plumbing lines are pressurized. But the town wants me to hook up the sink so they can check the lines for leaks...... don't you think it will leak now if there were leaks. So I am going to hook the sink up and and than disassemble it after they approve it so I can tile the wall and floors. I feel like they would want to come out and check the water supply line to my toilets every time I take that off to work in the bathroom. Basically the same concept. Bunch of morons. This will set me back a little bit as I wasn't planning on doing that for a bit so I need to find the time to get the plumbing done on it in a manner that I can disassemble after the inspection.

Got some of the plumbing done this weekend. I removed both drains from the sink I got. Fought with them for an hour Saturday than went to the store and bought Liquid Plumber. Sprayed it on and 4 hours later was able to get them out. Installed new drains that are shiny and new. Took about another few hours to get the water supply lines hooked up without any leaks. Ended up needing 90 degree elbows for the supply line hookups as without the line stuck straight out and wouldn’t allow me to push the sink back to the wall. Lots of Teflon tape! Was than able to check the drains and get those set up with no leaks. Measured and cut the pvc for the drain lines. Ran out of time this weekend but hoping to get it hooked up this week so I can schedule the inspection for later this week! For not being a handy person I am pretty happy with the results so far for the work I’m doing.

I also rolled my stand in there so I could get a visual of what it will look like.
