Noob from Mills River

Post by appaholic »

Hey folks - just joined from lovely Mills River, NC. Proud App St grad who lives to flyfish Tenkara style. Tie my own flies and now want to brew my own stouts. Currently a recovering AA member who drank his first beer in 6 years last month (Sammy Smith Oatmeal Stout). Realized my problem maybe wasn't so much the drinking as the cocaine I was buying in bathrooms and parking lots of my local watering holes. I've decided to start brewing if I'm going to enjoy the fruits of the yeast and recently purchased a Brew Demon Li'l Demon. Will be brewing a 2 gallon batch of Nut Brown this weekend and then start with the stouts. Appreciate you guys providing a site where I can learn some skills and meet some good folks.

Welcome. It sounds like you've had a rough road in the past (no judgement here).

I hope you find this hobby rewarding - we're here to help, have fun and yeah, drink a beer or two.

Welcome! Be sure to ask about anything you need help with. We honestly do check our egos at the door, and we love helping new brewers. We asked the same questions ourselves, and we're just itching to pay it forward!
