Cats and aluminum foil...

I remember seeing a post where mashani put aluminum foil down to keep is cats away. Well.....apparently deaf cats just don't care.

My cats hate it. So does the border collie I am baby sitting.

I know in the border collies case it's both the sound it makes, and also how light reflects off of it in random directions when it's crinkly. The light reflections make her insane.

I think in the cats case it's the sound, because I hear a "aluminum foil crinkly sound", and then I see the cats fly out of the room.

I had put the foil on the counter and had turned away. I heard the foil crinkle and turned to see Half Pint walk across it turn around and stand on it. I'll experiment with the other cats aliens and see how they react. Maybe she's trying to figure out the magical powers of foil hats.

Thing is, cats dig playing with aluminum foil balls. At least Duncan does, but then, The Dunker does what he wants anyway, including knocking over wastepaper baskets, for some reason known only to El Dunkerino (if you're not into the whole brevity thing).
