What are you drinking?

Re: What are you drinking?
Since I don't have a bag of infinite holding containing many beers like Swen, I am just drinking my own beer.
The English IPA, which turned out more like an ESB and made with Styrian Goldings, and although not an IPA, is a quite delicious ESB. The styrians I got were something from a cheap hop sale and from 2016 I think, so the AAUs are not quite there anymore. Flavor seems to not be subdued though. Not sure how that works.
Also the English ESB I made with the South African hops. Which is like a nice ESB. And is also quite delicious, and for sure the best beer I made with the SA hops.
Both from the Mash & Boil and AG.
Me likey my Mash & Boil. Me making really good beer with it.

Re: What are you drinking?
I have a Kolsch that's carbonated and cold lagering for two weeks now. Supposedly it'll take up to five weeks for it to be sparkling clear. Yesterday I kegged a nice Belgian Witbier spiced with grains of paradise and a light dose of crushed coriander seed. It has a nice orange flavor thanks to the addition of four ounces of zest to the end of the boil. At this point, the Witbier will be ready to drink before the Kolsch. But sampling the Kolsch is enjoyable as it continues to lager.

Re: What are you drinking?
I started last night with a simple Pilsner and that was supposed to be it.
Then an hour later a buddy stopped by with a crowler from my favorite local brewery.
Then after he left, 15 minutes later my neighbor showed up with a 750ml bottle of a yummy Belgian Dubbel Tart Fruit thing that capped off the night perfectly.
I typically don't drink that much in a night, but I have no complaints!

Re: What are you drinking?
The session IPA I made in the M&B with cryo simcoe and citra.
It tastes good and has nice aroma, but it is bitter as $@$! even though I threw all the hops in at flameout and just let them steep during the slow-chill.
I'd probably like it better if I had used normal Simcoe that had less AAUs.
Probably the bitter will subside with age, but so will the aroma/flavor, so ?

Re: What are you drinking?
Here’s a session IPA from Scotland. My neighbor brought it back from Canada last week. You sure can taste the Scottish influence in it. Its kind of like drinking a Scottish Ale with no dark or caramel malts. Same hop flavor and aroma as the Scottish Ale.

Citra pale ale....yummy.
It may not look like it from recent posts but I do drink my homebrew, too!

Re: What are you drinking?
The South African hop Vienna DME single I made to use up the hops and the DME that also happened to get my Brett C.
It pretty much sucks, none of the flavors go well together and it has some hot peppery alcohol too and I have no idea why that would be.
I'm not one to dump beer, I'd normally just ignore it for a while and see if it gets better, but I might just dump this to free up bottles to make more good beer in the Mash & Boil. I have a whole bunch of oak smoked wheat itching to be used to make a Grodziskie.

To me, it’s somewhat a numbers game. Brew enough beer and sooner or later you’ll brew a dumper.

Stopped by Yazoo for the first time in forever. Linus took their award winning hefe and open air fermented it in the coolship a couple weeks ago...
It seemed to really enjoy it's time in the coolship. Thar she blows....
Went to try the result. Got a side-by-side of the regular hefe (right) and the coolship version (left)...
The coolship version was interesting. Muted wheat/clove/hop, while (to me, anyway) the banana shone through more than the normal. Fun experiment...
Also had the Simplicité, a 3.2% table beer "fermented with Brettanomyces. Notes of Pear, Fresh Cut Grass, Hay and Lime lead to a tart, hoppy, very dry & zippy finish." Could drink this all summer...

Re: What are you drinking?
This makes sense to me, open fermentation is supposed to increase ester production, where pressurized fermentation is supposed to suppress it.The coolship version was interesting. Muted wheat/clove/hop, while (to me, anyway) the banana shone through more than the normal. Fun experiment...

This is my first Yazoo beer ever! I now know why so many of you talk about it. Nicely balanced & very flavorful.
