Everything about this sounds just right!Kealia wrote:Today, after a morning hike in the redwoods, I racked my Nelson Sauvin Pale Ale into a keg and threw in 1oz of dry hop. I'll pull 'em out on Friday and then start carbing this one right away. (It's a 2.5G batch so the 1oz is proportional).

Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
I just dry hopped .7 oz of belma pellets and 1.1 oz of citra whole leaf in my Hoppy Saison. Will bottle in about 5 days.

That saison is gonna smell amazing!
Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
Bottled the Pacific Gem English brown. Tasted like I used a hella-lot of fuggles. Which is ok by me.
Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
Finally bottling Tabby today (hefeweizen). Pretty neutral aroma but the banana esters came through well in the flavor, which is just what I wanted! Can't wait to pop one open.

LHBS is having its Grand Opening tomorrow. Going to brew a Farmhouse Saison in the parking lot. Going to pitch White Labs WLP670, Saison yeast with Brett. Gee, I hope it will look infected.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
I left about 1" of dregs in one of my juniper saison bottles and put the cap back on and it's been sitting for a week. The oxygen woke up the brett (I think because it needs to make a pellicle to protect itself) and so it formed a cool brett pellicle in the bottle and it's chewing up whatever stuff in there it can still eat a more rapid fashion then in the full capped bottles that have a co2 blanket. The bottle is almost rock hard again (740ML Coopers PET). So now I have a little brett starter to pitch into something or step up. Hurray! More Brett in my house!
I'd bring it on over to your opening and let you chuck it into your beer for some extra variety - but your too far away
Oh and I brewed an evil festbier/kolsch hybrid with Juniper.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
Bottled today Fall Farm house Saison or might name it Funky Farm house Saison. Haven't decided yet, but as per samples it's going to be good. Some strange flavors in this one but good ones. Was fermented warm with Belle Saison yeast, Pilsner as a base, some wheat, Caramunich. Nelson Sauvin, Saaz, and Strisselspalt hops for the aroma. Coriander and grains of paradise. It seems to be an interesting beer.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
Today I brewed my Harvest Nugget SMaSH using my homegrown nugget hops and 12 lbs of Maris Otter. It was a very good brew day. Also I went to the Cider Mill and got 5 gallons of cider fresh from the apple press for $5 a gallon.
