Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
Kegged and bottled California Steamin' Cali Common Ale this weekend, took a sample and of it after 3 days at 12psi and carbonation was just beginning to take place. The bottles will be another 2-3 weeks before they're ready.

Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
I've got a fiver of King Pin IPA in the rotation for tomorrow.
It's a little fussy, as there are hop additions every five minutes for the first 20 minutes or so of the boil, but it's worth it. Lots of Centennial bitterness without a nasty bite.

Haven't brewed in a few weeks. Pipeline thinning because I've been enjoying my own brews lately. Trying my hand at my first I.R.A. I really liked Goose Island's Rambler, so here goes! BTW, drinking my Oktoberfest as I mash in.

Did the Mr B Seasonal ESB today. Wort tasted good and I had forgotten how easy it is to do a straight HME. 35 minute brew day. Next weekend will do a second batch of Dave's 100 Years War IPA.
Re: What are you brewing/bottling?
I just bottled MB Bewitched Amber, 3 weeks in the LBK. It's tough to tell what I think of the taste I did at bottling. At first I got a malty/caramel/"extract" taste and then after that got what I believe is the hops. It's a lemony/citrus taste. I think I read that they use Pride of Ringwood hops. So I'm not sure if what I'm tasting makes sense. Anyway, it needs to sit in the bottle for a few weeks.

Wow, I did not realize Ward's had a knock-off version of the Excalibur food drier. Had I known that I could of saved a lot of money!berryman wrote:Drying the pumpkin seeds in my dehydrator - marinated last night in soy and Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and a little hot juice

This beer has carbed in 5 days. Stayed in the fermenter for 10 weeks! Yea, I know!
The first thing I noticed is it really needs a stronger bittering charge. I read where the Comet hops were potent
so I went light on them in this version. I think I could have used quite a bit more.
It's a sweet, mild and very citrusy flavored beer, with fruity nose and a higher alcohol content than I planned on.
I'm thinking a bit of Warrior or Magnum would improve this alot!
I will do this again soon and maybe cut the crystal to 1/2 lb and add some aromatic to up the malt flavor a bit more.
Needless to say, I'm not disappointed at all, just looking to improve upon this next time!
Any suggestions are welcomed!

Kegged 5 gallons STONE COLD PETTINE PALE ALE, hopped with Amarillo and Nelson Sauvin. The sample tasted really nice!

Awesome Steve. My neighbor told me that I needed to make a Pettine Porter, but I like the sound of Pettine Pale Ale much better.
