Going to watch a little bit of the Browns game, then it's down to the basement to bottle my Fruit Salad Session IPA.

Well, for a hop head, I really kept mine simple. Guess I went the wrong with you you boys. Oh well, maybe for Nashville 2.0.

Took off from work today, so as not to waste it I'm gonna brew. Made a nice size starter earlier in the week of White Labs WLP090 to decant and pitch into Bela's IPA. Then in two weeks I'll keg it, brew Colorful Dreams IIPA and pitch some yeast slurry from Bela's into it.

Don't fret it Paul, my Nashville beer is nothing special, just something new I've not tried.
I wish my Saison Brett was ready, I'd like to bring it. But I'm going to let it sit and check it once a month. When it's where I want it, I'll keg, carb, bottle and if I still like y'all after Nashville :p ship out.

Oh and it's a clear crisp 32* wort chillin made easy day outside.

I bottled the Fedorus Magnus Kölsch this morning. We're going upstate until just before New Year's so I won't be brewing anything until after the first of the year. But then I'll be making a fiver of FedoraDave's American Ale.

Wish I could brew soon. I'll likely be taking the longest time away from brewing because my pipeline is pretty good. I may sneak a brew in before Nashville and let it ferment while I'm gone but it's already been 3 weeks since I brewed and it might be another depending on how things shake out.
Enjoy the brewing my brutha's!

Beer-lord wrote:That Black IPA sounds right up my alley. Post your final thoughts please when you get a taste.
Upfront hop flavors and aromas from the Amarillo & Simcoe, then a bit of caramel, slight toasted flavors, with a warm pleasant alcohol hint of flavor to finish. As the glass warms a bit, all these flavors & the aromas become even more apparent. I don't keep my kegerator super cold, but at around 40 deg F.
Here's a picture of a first pour on this batch with a new tap handle Santa dropped off on Christmas!

Great to know. I am doing one of 3 black IPA's sometime soon.
I also keep my kegerator set to 40 as that's the way I like most of my beers.

I've been enjoying a lot of craft beers lately so I suppose I should actually brew something up. I stopped by MoreBeer today to whip up a Gumbalhead-inspired pale ale.
The yeastie-beasties are on the stirplate now and I"'m aiming for either a Sunday or Monday brewday.
Tomorrow I have something special planned...

Rebel_B wrote:Checked the gravity on another batch today; Seahawks Victory Beer. My LHBS gave me some free Fermentis Saflager-23 yeast ( had just hit the expiration date). That has been fermenting at +/- 56 deg F for a week and a half. Looks like it already hit the expected gravity of 1.014. I will put in a secondary sometime this week.
Kegged the Seahawks Victory Beer, cleared up quite bit after 5 days in a secondary.

Looks like the 'style guidelines' put this in the Classic American Pilsner range:
92% Pale Malt, 8% Munich Light Malt
Simcoe (bittering) & Saaz (flavor & aroma) hops
Fermented with Saflager-23 dry yeast
Finished at 6.0% ABV
