My Honey-do and I went to Razoo's in Harker Heights tonite and I enjoyed a couple of Abita Amber Ales...I am having a hard time drinking restaurant served draught brews only cuz I am so used to my own homebrews which seem to have a lot heavier mouthfeel. Is this normal or am I tetched in da head?...I just think they taste like flavored water with a kick. What say y'all???

Had dinner at Triton Brewery. Started with their Altbier followed by a nice Railsplitter IPA. Then at home I finished off with my Bourbon Barrel Pale Ale. This one is now really getting good at 6 weeks in bottle. It compares well with Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale.

As someone who isn't a huge fan of saisons I must say this is an interesting beer. I can't say I like it but the way the flavors play is different than any beer I have had before.
I had one Friday night as well. Same it wasn't my favorite, started out great, but the smoky/ peppery taste came through a lot more as it warmed up. Not bad though.

Drinking up I think the last of my Oly-FIT IPA. The keg is very light, feels empty, yet keeps yielding glasses of awesomeness! This stuff is as good as the first pull on it. The aroma and taste is darn near spot on for when it was first tap'd. Not looking forward to it be'n gone, but it just keeps producing glass after glass after glass, all whilst feeling totally empty. Maybe it's reproducing in the keg? Sure hope so!

That is why I don't drink much "commercial" beer T8r. They filter it, and it just seems to make it watery up front. I had to "filter" a hop boo boo once. Got the same results. seemed watery.
So, no. It ain't just you. its at least the two of us.

HopSLAMber Amber Ale, which is an extract recipe I concocted mostly because I wanted to try hop bursting.

It's an okay, slightly hoppy amber ale.

JJ that's pretty good beer, I had a couple the other night, but non usable twist-top bottles is the only thing bad with them.
