Brewing nothing this weekend, as things just got too crazy and exhausting. I'm kegging a fiver of 2Daves Irish Red today, though. And then I'm going to modify my brew schedule and think about what I'm going to brew next.

Yesterday I kegged and bottled the Cascadian Dark Ale I brewed a few weeks ago. Twelve ounces of hops absorbed a lot of wort and I had a little over four gallons of beer to package but man this is definitely the hoppiest beer I've brewed to date. Needless to say dry hopping for added aroma wasn't required.

Got a BIAB 2.5 gal. batch of Blonde Ale in the fermenter bottle in 9 days. Just pic up a mini mash of Summer Ale for those hot summer days at the lake when you just want something refreshing.

Gonna brew a youtuber favorite that I can't give out the recipe for....Drop Kick Nate. My first time using Galaxy and El Dorado hops. We'll see how this one turns out.

Just finished the DKN and I blew the OG and am surprised. It called for 1.053 and even with a bit too much water I ended up with 1.060. I did mash for almost 75 minutes if that makes a big difference but I hit my pre boil 50 minutes into the mash.
Gotta say these hops, Galaxy and El Dorado, definitely smell much different than my normal hops. More earthy I guess but good. The test tube tasted more bitter than I thought it would.

Interesting that you get that from those hops. Galaxy is like amped up Citra and El Dorado should be lemony. Clearly you screwed this up and shouldn't be allowed to play with hops anymore.

I'll likely have a better idea when fermentation begins and I can sniff and perv the odors coming out the fermenter.
I've read that El Dorado can be like Jolly Rancher and I can say I did get a little of that on Stone's Delicious IPA.

I brewed what I call Big Ben's Tavern Ale, a low ABV pale Ale with hopefully some pine aroma. Will open some on the 4 of July. Got to try out my new brew pot I can do a full boil now. It works good.

Checked the gravity on this batch... Only down to +/- 1.020 after a couple of weeks. Slow ferment at around 56-58 degrees.

What was the OG? My 1.05ish batches with S-23 are typically done in 2 weeks.

OG: 1.066 When I've used this yeast before, it was done before two weeks. I don't know why this one is slower than usual. I'm going to let it ride till it's done!
