Just got done brewing a Red Rye Ale, 1.066 SG. it has really nice color and a good hop profile for a red. I screwed up and over cooled it though and that's the opposite of what usually happens. I need a new thermometer I think my long stem one is way off compaired to my other ones. I'm using Wyeast 1450 Dennys Fav, first time with this yeast. Getting ready to pitch now.

It feels good to be fermenting again.
Well, *I'm* not fermenting.....you know what I mean.
Finished up a batch of Nelson Sauvin APA/IPA (depending on how it turns out).
This is yet another version of this year-round beer but this time I'm going for a more "in yo face" hop presence than before.

Bottled my Fruit Wheat Beer, forgetting the batch priming sugar on the second 2.5 gallons, so I ended up bottle priming those (and removing the caps on 16 bottles when I realized it).

Just put together my first AG Pale Ale Recipe. I have never been a huge fan of Pale Ales but they are growing on me and can be a quick simple recipe I can keep in the rotation. Plus I get my bulk grain order tomorrow so I needed to make something with it!

Brewed up my first IPL on Sunday; a Rye IPL; 65% Pale malt, 16% Rye malt, 16% flaked Rye, & 3% light Munich malt. Used some Magnum bittering hops, Simcoe flavor hops, and Amarillo, Cascade, & Simcoe aroma hops. Pitched a S-23 Saflager yeast in that. OG was 1.080, & the yeast looks like it is getting a good start, krausen already started & temperature at 58 degrees in the fermenter.. I'm figuring on transferring to a secondary in 2-3 weeks, then dry-hop with a bunch of Amarillo & Simcoe hops.

I'm looking forward to tasting this one. I had harvested this yeast from another batch, so the quantity of the yeast was huge. Fermenter is sporting a 1" head of foam/krausen on top when I peeked yesterday. I'll post a picture in the first pour thread once it's done.

got a not-so-imperial all grain stout and a fruity saison (extract) bottled... an esb next up for bottling sunday. will be doing a dubbel all grain and an irish red all grain next. love how cheap all grain is in comparison to extract..even if it is more work.
