But I do a lot of camping and the sleeping bags need washing regularly (equal to queen size) and well you know wife's like what they like and when they get mind set only a matter of time before stalling doesn't work

The wife and I bought the LG in your link about a month ago. Very happy with it so far. Takes longer than the old fashioned ones, but on the flip side the clothes come out less wet so the dryer cycle is shorter. Evens out.
Capacity is great without that center agitator, I've no regrets. Granted its only been a month or two...

About 15 or so years ago I called the repair dude to fix my washer. He took a look at it and commented it would probably be cheaper to buy a new one since it was already 10-15 years old as was the dryer. He suggested skipping all the bells and whistles since - as he put it - "I dont know what those jokers were thinking as EVERYONE knows water and electricity dont play well together." Took his advice and picked up a Whirlpool medium of the line mechanical timer washer. 15 years down the road it is still working like a champ. The Whirlpool dryer I have still works fine although this past year it developed a dead spot or two on the mechanical timer. I cant really fault it as the dryer is now 25-30 years old. Funny thing is everytime I had that repairman in my house he has been trying to buy my double oven, 1951 GE pushbutton stove. Of course I wont sell it as it is the only one I know of personally that will boil 6 gallons of water easy peasy.

Thanks for everyone's input. A beer forum and laundry advise, who would have thunk it. Through all the research, I've decided on the LG 5070 model when I find it as cheap as I can get it.
Over my old machine it will help off set some of the water I use brewing and I'll look sharp in clean clothes doing it.
Now, thoughts on extended warranty contracts?
