I just used mine. I wanted more APA then IPA, so I did it as small partial volume boil with 1/2# of muntons extra light dme, 1/2oz Ahtanum hops @10, added the HME to drop the temp, tossed in another 1/2oz of Ahtanum, put the lid on and let it stand with all the hops for 20 more minutes, giving it a swirl once in a while. Pulled the hops, added cool water to my LBC, poured it in and topped up to 2.5 gallons. Ended up with 1.054, which is fine. IBUs should be in the mid 40s somewhere which is fine. I may add some more Ahtanum as a dry hop, it depends on how the sample seems. I'm hoping with the extra flavoring from the boil and hop stand and diluting the base HME a bit I'll mask some of the POR I don't like in the straight up refill. I pitched a whole pack of Nottingham, so it should ferment out somewhat dry and clean. It's been a while since I've used Ahtanum, but what I remember is I liked them almost as much as Amarillo, I think it was like I used Amarillo with a tiny twist of Simcoe, so I think it will be decent.
