Finally pulled the trigger on this. Ordered 1 Cascade and 1 Northern Brewer. I had 8 bucks in my PayPal account so I ended up just spending an extra dollar for the total with shipping. I'm going to look into types of containers to try to grow them in until I receive them.

Since these are deadly to dogs, can't just grow them anywhere. Are they deadly to deer? If so, I'd like to plant a few acres...

Nope they have gotten fat on my attempts to grow them!! Plus this year I found out that non-human turkeys love 'em too. Caught one tom digging a plant up!!!

Damn... I've got plenty of deer running around and saw a group of turkeys last fall. Hope they ended up on a table, they are nasty mean birds. The original Angry Birds... I thought about neighbors dogs, and even though one big dog craps in my yard, (never saw it but judging by the pile) I wouldn't want anything to happen to it. Now the owner who lets him crap in my yard...
I'm thinking a raised bed, with 1/2" chicken wire underneath to stop moles and voles, and fencing to keep out the dogs and larger critters. But it will be visable to my wife, so I'll have to make it look nice...Maybe plant flowering vines to hide fencing...
My leaf/grass compost should have plenty of potassium and nitrogen that they require.

Any idea when these should be shipping? I'm seeing ppl posting pics of hops growing and I've yet to receive mine. Hoping they don't come in too late to plant

I was thinking ther same thing...last week when it was in 70's...not so much this week. But I do have a planting plan...area,soil,and lines...

Someone asked that question on the Facebook page. They replied yesterday (April 16) that they expect to ship all orders by early next week.

I just got mine today, as well! Very excited. Are there any particular things I need to know before planting them, or is it more just "shove em into the dirt and keep em watered" kinda thing?

Got mine Wednesday, the Galena was all moldy. I scrubbed, washed and planted. Hop I have no issues. I have in pots now, when I'm sure weather is going to stay warm, I'll plant in ground...

Got mine yesterday too. Not ready to plant yet so I have in the refrigerator (AH said they would keep a long time in there). Now I'm thinking I might plant them in pots first to get them started and transfer to the ground in a few weeks.

I think I'm going to plant mine in the big planter I have my pineapple in right now. The fruit is going on 2 months growing. Probably another month or so before I can pick it, and then the plant gets composted. That should help give the hops some nutrients.
