Photon Brewing wrote:Anyone going to the game? Whats everyones plans? While not a holiday and some folks dont do sports, it is sorta a big day now that we're in the duldrums of winter. A reason to eat and drink and enjoy people. Personally, Im looking forward to a different climate and setting. Noone does anything like NYC. And the commercials play a nice part to. I'm on call so will be exercising moderation but I will be with some family and friends so its sure to be a nice time.

Ok people... here we have it. Photon Brewing just confessed...He's a cannibal.

Like you're not Dag? C'mon, never even a nibble? :p
I've seen all but two of the last 37 Superbowls with my HS buddy and former room-mate Steve. There will probably be 20 people at his house, and they expect my chili. I'll make it today. I also have a chilled 12pack of Christmas Red homebrew to bring. Good times.
I had been rooting for the Seahawks for Pete Carroll. But I think they've acted badly during the play-offs, so I'm rooting for Peyton Manning. But really I just want great football, good officiating, clean play. During the play-offs many games were settled in the last two minutes, even the last play. That would be fun.

What do you think we do with trespassers? Certain cuts make excellent chilli!! Made with homebrew. Other cuts are best smoked/chopped up for sausages. All eaten of course, with homebrew.

Still coming to visit? Fridge is gettin low... LOL

Plan on watching with a few friends. As Colts fans we have to root for Peyton and the Chargers. Very happy for him that he has a chance for another ring. That never would have happened if he had stayed in Indy because the team was aging and they couldn't afford to rebuild with his hit to the salary cap. Peyton should never have to buy a drink for the rest of his life in Indianapolis.

Yea I'm going to watch it like I always do, but no party or anything, no special food, no fixing party snacks, no special beers, no company, just me and my hound dog and he won't pay attention to the game, but he does like it if I through him snack or two. The wife will be watching a different tv and using her notepad.
We use to have big Super Bowl parties back in 1990, 91, 92, 93, the Bills Days, but by the time they do that again/if ever I'll be too old to have a party.
One good thing about Buffalo NY, Hot Chicken Wings and football are a good match.

Hmm.. Maybe get another saison in before the game, Maybe something blue and orange and green in honor of both teams, hm... green = hops, blue = blueberries? orange.. well an orange. ok a blueberry orange saison IPA. (or maybe that's IPS, don't know)

Then I will watch the game and commercials and drink home brew.

Had an awesome celebration at our friend's 12th man party yesterday afternoon! Couple dozen people showed up, 7 guys there. Killed my keg of homebrewed pale ale and my wife won $100.00 in the betting pool. Good time! I'm hopeful that I'll be able to make it to the victory parade in downtown Seattle on Wednesday...
