Dave tell them you're bringing in some 'gluten free' beer for your guests, and bring your homebrew, they'll never be able to tell the difference. With 18 months to go you could brew enough to supply beer for the entire wedding.

I know when I got married there were two ways you could do it. First, they serve what they serve and you pay by the keg (or by the bottle for wine). Or, you pay a pour charge by the glass and you can get whatever you want. The pour charge was about 75% of what the beverage would cost so that was completely silly so we went with the "they serve what they get" scenario. Luckily, their house beer was brewed by Jolly Pumpkin so that worked out well. We did not have liquor since pretty much everyone drank beer and wine so it would have been sort of pointless as it was a per person charge across the board. For the few people who did not drink beer and wine we bought a couple of bottles of their booze of choice and put it in an unlocked car. Problem solved.

I remember a dry wedding I went to years ago. Was pretty funny as you could tell who was tailgating as they were hoisting red and blue Solo cups whereas the pop was served in clear glasses.

Well, if you want the best ABInBev beer around you need to get Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout.
It's funny they don't list Goose Island on their site, but they certainly own them.

Dave I think you should definitely supply the beer yourself. What you brew is far superior to anything AAB/InBev makes and you have enough lead time to do it. That would be a wonderful wedding present. I think it is your duty to save your guests from Bud Lite.

Rawr! Zoo sounds like a fun venue. I bet they would let you bring a keg to serve on tap.

I wonder if the gate keepers would notice a tap handle sticking out of a hay bale?

I've played in bands at the Bronx Zoo. One that I remember was a charity event at the old entrance. There are a few old fashioned big cat cages there.

I remembered one affair that was in the evening and the sun was setting. It was getting pretty dark as I walked up to a large cage with a big cat ( I can't remember if it was a leopard or tiger ) who was "sleeping" I remember thinking that it was pretty cool to be looking at this cat all by myself in the dark. Suddenly the cat charged at me! Scared the s### out of me! I'm glad for steel bars.

It might be hard for guests duck out to their cars at the Bronx Zoo. The caterers are really strict about things in the NYC area. My son bought all the beer for his wedding but they used a caterer from the Hudson Valley. They are a little more relaxed about things up there.

I concur! I bet the favorite song for the wedding bands that play there is Guns N Roses, "Welcome To The Jungle".
