Count me in as a kook :) I didn't use to like bottling and it was almost the very worst part of making beer, but I've worked on things to make it easier and faster and now I really enjoy bottling day. Cleaning can still be a PITA, but my favorite secret is after you pour a beer out of the bottle and before you take the first sip, go to the sink and rinse and rinse well and leave hot water in the bottle. Same as out of the carboy rinse, rinse and rinse, it will really make your beer brewing/drinking a lot better.
This has really made my bottling day a lot more fun also:

I for one, along with a few of my brethren here on the borg, LOVES to bottle. It is one step closer to drinking and I get into such a focused routine, listening to music or local radio talk shows depending on the time of day and if SWMBO is home or at work.

Now CLEANING, sanitizing and doing clean up work is the worst part behind my brewing / bottling. It has to be cleaner than when I started and sanitized more than before. BUT it is a step to fantastic homebrews and love taking those steps, tedious or not.

Great topic Roger...thanks :thanks:

1) Cleaning (although PBW soaks help make this less of a chore)

2) Sanitizing (although StarSan makes this less of a chore)

Two other, minor nits:

* Having to explain to every 'novice' to whom I give home brew: "don't swig it out of the bottle," "don't store the bottles on their sides," "don't pour out every last drop," etc., etc., etc.

* The waiting.
