I want to taste my clone so bad it's like I'm a first-time brewer again. I have one keg full of Experiment 626 and the other full of my Nelson Sauvin Pale Ale. I only have a two tap kegerator and I'm going to want to drink this one ASAP so I can either:
1) Keg it and leave one of the others out
2) Bottle it
3) Keg it and rotate taps when I want this one
4) Keg it and put a picnic tap on it
5) Add another tap like I was thinking about doing a while ago
6) Have some patience
#6 is clearly not an option.
#5 is likely the popular choice
The reality is that I will likely bottle this one. The good news is that it will be easy to share a few bottles. The bad news is that if it's good I won't want to.

That's the great thing about this hobby, it never gets old. If it gets stale and you have a few bad ones (like me lately) the ups are even better.
Just drink some good local stuff until yours are ready.

This is cold crashing at the moment and I'll be racking it to a carboy to dry hop it this weekend.
I want to get as much yeast out of suspension as possible so the dry hop really pops.

Another version of this recipe is on my radar for later this month or early next month. Still not quite sure if I want to do this recipe or the one I linked to earlier. Heck, maybe I'll have to do both in the end.
Can't wait to hear how this one comes out.

Oh my. I racked this into a carboy this morning on about 3/4oz of Citra and the smell was so good that I almost had a hopgasm.

I bottled this earlier this morning and the smell was UH-MAZING. I hope that gets preserved and hope it tastes even half as good as it smells.
While I found it weird to be bottling again after so much kegging, I'm glad this one is one step closer to drinking.

Looking at Deschutes website, I saw this:
http://www.deschutesbrewery.com/recipe/ ... ueezed-ipa
Malt
Pale
Crystal - 75
Munich
Hops
Citra
Mosaic
Nugget
My recipe I'm doing next Friday has a bit of white wheat (which I like) and C60 but I'm thinking of going to C75. I'm not sure that 15L more will make it that much darker but then I saw this:
http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f12/clone-r ... ndex4.html
They also mention a 90 minute boil which I think is why they FWH. I'm wondering if the extra boil time with the FWH Nugget will bring a bit too much bitterness in this. Prolly doesn't make much of a difference either way.

fwiw I think, they thought the same thing about the Nugget. My experience with FWH is it makes your
perception of the bitter less harsh/more mellow.

I left the wheat out since it isn't in the original recipe. I figure that I'll be doing this one more than once so if I think it needs better head I can add that in next time.
I also goofed and used Magnum to bitter so I'm already off the recipe a bit so I guess I HAVE to brew this again.
Its only been in the bottle for a week but its already calling to me.

I think I'll go with the wheat as I have lots of it here and like what it does. Head is not a problem my beers have, I just like wheat.
It's calling to me to since I tried it and that's why I jumped this brew to the next one so fast.

My best friend invited me to a beer festival this weekend and who will be there (among others, of course)? Descheutes! I'm willing to get that I'm going to drink some Fresh Squeezed from the tap.

One of the best brewdays ever! RedBEERd and I did 11 gallons in the most awesomest weather to brew in....70 and clear skies with a light breeze.
Took a while with so much water but we ended up at 1.069 and just a tad under 11 gallons. A few bugs flew in a chill time but I'm sure they'll add to the flavor. For such a small amount of hops, it had a great, overwhelming, citrus aroma throughout. I especially enjoyed whirlpooling as it chilled. The aroma was killer. Can't wait to see how this comes out.
RedBEERd used 05 and I have 001 and we expect this to be a very good and rebrewed beer.
Ron, thanks for sending one as the only other one I had was forgotten and this was pushed ahead of other planned brews.
