Wow, last night I realized something. Halloween is on Friday this year. Why is this important you may ask? Well, I realized this when getting ready to keg my Black F-Rye Day IPA that was in the secondary being dry hopped. Contrary to usual practices, I decided to force carb it so that it will be ready - or at least close - by 6p today for the little beggars. That really worked out perfect, saves me a trip to the beer store, and saves the Dirty Bastard for tomorrow.

Going to a block-party tonight. There is supposed to be a keg. So I'm sure it will be some standard American swill. I will have to bring a few of my own "Pumpkin Rye Saisons" and "Oktoberfest Ales".

This is the only beer we've aged for any length of time and it knocked our socks off.
Don't get me wrong it was great while we enjoyed it last year but after aging it is a whole new animal. We'll start planning to stash a batch of this away every year from now on.
It was so mellow that I think even Kealia might actually like it.
But alas that was the last one so fair well friend and thanks for the memories. (tears e-moticon here)

That's a pretty big claim! Glad that you found one stashed away!

I drank a couple of my Oktoberfest Lagers (not some of the better beers I have made) and another Pumpkin Ale, and a Farmhouse Saison. Have been cleaning up my brewing equipment for the brew day tomorrow. Going to brew the Pumpkin Ale again and getting ready now to bake the pumpkins tonight.

SWMBO is at her parents' house, and I got off work at 7:30. Stopped at Whole Foods and grabbed a Samuel Smiths chocolate stout, and it's soooooo good! Also stopped at little Caesars for a pizza. Dinner for one...

I bought a sixer of Summit Brewery's Unchained Series Batch #16 "Herkulean Woods" It's a lager (which is unusual for Summit) and it's brewed with maple syrup and spruce tips. The initial tastes are pretty tasty.
I do believe that I'm expanding my palette.

Hey I just realized that Ghost In The Machine and Zombie Dust didn't make this thread.
Now that's just wrong.

And I drank nothing last night. I picked up the cold that was going around work.

Any Ghost they have here is a bit old though they do last a while but they've only been coming out once or twice a year and we can't get Zombie Dust here.
